Meals of Mercy – Local Humanitarian Community Project

On Monday, March 23, 2009, Rotarians prepared and served a free meal to 120 needy people at the Bridge in Anniston, AL. This was a time of serving others and a good example of Service Above Self. A District Simplified Grant for $1,000.00 was awarded to our club that enables us to reach out and help with Meals of Mercy. The Anniston Noon Rotary Club matched the grant and a total of $2,000.00 was given to help with the feeding program. This program is more than feeding the needy. It is about reaching out and touching peoples’ lives that live below the poverty line. Thanks to the Rotarians that helped to prepare/serve the food and clean up.
